Ego Is Not The Enemy
The issues that most see with ego is actually not ego, but a personality flaw. In fact, ego is one of the greatest superpowers we all have- when used correctly.

Hi Team….
What if you had a superpower within you that you are not using because the World told you not to?
Or, that your superpower is bad?
What if we all had the same superpower?
What if, that superpower was our ego?
A few months back, I watched a clip of an interview with Sly Stallone- 70+ years old and working out hard.
Still prepping for his next movie.
Still writing movies.
Still working hard physically to ensure he does not decline.
When asked why he does what he does, he replied, “EGO”…..
His ego motivates him.
Before we dive deeper into ego, lets define it as I love to do:
EGO:
- The self, especially as distinct from the world and other selves.
- In psychoanalysis, the division of the psyche that is conscious, most immediately controls thought and behavior, and is most in touch with external reality.
- An exaggerated sense of self-importance
OK- out of the 3-definitions, why are we most focused on the last one, an exaggerated sense of self-importance?
And, the truth is, if you do not find yourself important, who will?
As a matter of fact, when I Coach individuals, I find they don’t take themselves seriously enough in regards to the things they need to be doing to get better- yet, many of them say they have to work on their ego.
I disagree.
Personally, I believe ego is a gift that we have.
I also say, there is a big difference in using your ego to your advantage and as a superpower vs. being an a$$hole.
One, the ego is a gift. Being an a$$hole is a personality flaw.
